As I posted yesterday, Hollywood is spending a lot of time in Brooklyn. Another feature film is occupying the gritty borough, this time in eclectic DUMBO. “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close”, starring Tom Hanks and under the Warner Brothers Studios umbrella, set up shop at the world famous Gleason’s Gym on Front Street.
Gym patrons were shown the door for eight hours while the production took place. I’m sure they’re comfortable with it, because Gleason’s hosts photo shoots, films, and other interferences on a regular basis. It’s to be expected in a place as iconic as Gleason’s.
Here’s a version of the movie poster, although I sincerely doubt this is the final. Many movies, notably Pulp Fiction, had several posters in distribution, although there were not the official marketing pieces.
